Oncology and Palliative care

Palliative care is defined as "treatment for adults and children with serious illness that focuses on alleviating symptoms and promoting personal happiness for patients and their families, but is not intended to cure the illness." Palliative care has evolved over time, from being demonstrated when aggressive therapy was no longer thought appropriate to now, when palliative care "is delivered throughout the cancer experience, at any stage the individual is having signs that need be controlled."
